The Lightning Arrestor 2 for LoRaWAN® is a two-stage RF surge protector designed to help protect outdoor LoRaWAN gateways and other compatible sub-GHz RF equipment from lightning-induced surges.
Designed for 50 Ω RF systems operating from 800–960 MHz, it combines high-energy surge diversion with a second protection stage that reduces residual voltage to ≤15 V, helping to protect sensitive RF electronics while maintaining signal performance.
With IP67 protection, low insertion loss and N-Type male-to-female connections, it is particularly suited to outdoor gateway installations, remote monitoring sites and mast- or pole-mounted LoRaWAN deployments.
KEY FEATURES
- Two-stage surge protection – combines primary surge-energy diversion with secondary voltage clamping for sensitive RF equipment.
- Low residual voltage – limits residual voltage to ≤15 V.
- Optimised for sub-GHz LoRa deployments – operates across the 800–960 MHz frequency range.
- Maintains RF performance – insertion loss of ≤0.3 dB and VSWR of ≤1.25.
- Built for outdoor installations – IP67 protection for exposed gateway and antenna deployments.
- 10 kA nominal discharge current – designed to divert high-energy surge events through a suitable grounding system.
- Straightforward RF installation – N-Female to N-Male configuration allows installation in-line with compatible antenna systems.
