The RAK3172-T is a compact WisDuo LoRaWAN® module designed to simplify the development of long-range, low-power IoT devices. Based on the STM32WLE5CC wireless microcontroller and supplied with RAKwireless Unified Interface V3 (RUI3) firmware, it provides a straightforward path to creating LoRaWAN applications without needing to develop a complete radio stack from scratch.
This variant features an MHF1 antenna connector and a ±2.5ppm TCXO, making it well suited to deployments that require improved frequency stability in challenging environmental conditions. It is intended for EU868, RU864 and IN865 LoRaWAN deployments.
The RAK3172-T can operate as a standalone LoRaWAN device using custom firmware developed with RUI3 APIs, or as a LoRa modem controlled by an external microcontroller or processor using AT or binary commands. It supports both LoRaWAN® 1.0.3 and LoRa Point-to-Point (P2P) communication, giving developers flexibility when building private wireless networks or connecting to public LoRaWAN infrastructure.
Its compact SMT stamp-module format helps reduce RF design complexity and accelerate product development, making it a popular choice for OEM devices, industrial monitoring systems, environmental sensing and battery-powered wireless applications.
